Caroline Glick’s Fear Mongering & Spreading of Debunked Stories
Oh look, Caroline Glick is bemoaning political correctness, recycling the debunked B.S. about American Muslims celebrating the 9/11 attacks in New Jersey by “holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops.” According to her, “word-of-mouth reports” (those are always reliable, right?) assert there were also “spontaneous celebrations carried out that day in Dearborn, Michigan, in Virginia and other Muslim American communities.”
She quickly veers into Alex Jones territory to support her claims, asserting that the absence of news stories is because they were suppressed by people like Rudy Giuliani—yes, you read that right, Rudy Giuliani was covering for them:
The most notable aspect of the published reports of the celebrations was that there were so few of them.
After all, the notion that any Muslim Americans would celebrate the jihadist attack was certainly newsworthy.
The stories were suppressed at the time by political leaders. Then New York mayor Rudy Guiliani for instance said the celebrations shouldn’t be reported lest they lead to violent attacks against peaceful Muslims. […]
So the reports weren’t so few because they were bullshit, they were few because political leaders were lying. Isn’t it a bit odd that no one in any of these towns kicked the crap out of the people who were supposedly celebrating? No passersby, no police, no firemen, not a single soul. And there was no video either. LACK OF PROOF = MORE PROOF!!11!
Here’s the part that make me want to scream at her that she sounds like a freaking Nazi:
Western nations have long histories of racism and intolerance. On the surface at least, placing a spotlight on the actions of one community, or adherents of one specific religion flies in the face of everything that the nations of the West have come to understand about how racism and bigotry takes root in a society. The very act of mentioning bad behavior carried out by members of a specific group seems inherently bigoted.
The problem with this well-intentioned position was self-evident from the start. It is not bigoted to point out the bigotry of others and to confront and challenge it.
It is bigoted not to do so. Even worse, it is dangerous.
So tolerance is a well-intentioned position and racism & bigotry are bad except where Muslims are concerned. Beware the infiltration, creeping Sharia, fifth column, questionable loyalties, etc. Do Jews like Glick (and she’s far from the only one), who use the exact same sort of bigoted scare mongering canards against Muslims as those that have been used against Jews for centuries, not feel ANY shame? Apparently not.
She offers no solutions, but she insinuates a LOT. She ends with this:
Whether or not President Donald Trump is able to reinstitute his executive order mandating a 90-day ban on entry of nationals from Syria, Iraq, Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, the fact is that such a move will be insufficient to diminish the terrorist threat in America. As Callimacci’s article made brutally clear, so long as the intellectual shackles of political correctness block the US and other Western governments from taking concerted action against the creed of Islamic supremacism and its adherents inside their own borders, the virtual terrorism command ISIS now controls will last until it morphs into an even more deadly threat in the months and years to come.
Again, she’s not offering any solutions, but she damned sure is making it clear that she thinks the U.S. has a “Muslim problem” that needs to be taken care of. Da’esh is recruiting via the freaking internet—how do you stop that crap? Make it illegal for Muslims to use the internet, or maybe just ban Islam altogether? Will a little ethnic cleansing do the trick? WTF?
Yeah, hon, in your hatred of Muslims you go ahead and side with knuckle-dragging neo-Nazi white supremacists because they say, “We support Israel, we support nationalism.” Do you think they give a damn about Israel beyond it being very convenient place to send all the Jews? They’ll never share what they think of as their white Christian country with you on equal terms. They’ll turn their attentions back to you just as soon as they’re done with us Muslims, Mexicans, blacks and all the other undesirables. You’ll be told to either convert or get your asses out of the U.S. and go live in Israel. Jews were dispossessed & banished plenty of times in Europe—they know how this works.
Why would white supremacists want you all in one place? Gee, I don’t know—you tell me.
If Glick is going to go with the conspira-loon crap, then she might want to try searching for dancing Israelis 9/11—she’ll find as much “proof” there that it was Israelis celebrating the deaths of thousands, as she will that it was Muslims.
And with that I’ll leave Ms. Glick to rejoin her pack
